It just seem unreasonable designing an extension with materials that are hard to come by.
But unreasonable is what WT does. One elder in local cong oversaw many construction projects. The brothers gave him a nickname...
(Exodus 5:10) . . .So those who drove the people to work and their officers went out and said to the people: “Here is what Pharaoh has said, ‘I am giving you no more straw.
... his nickname was Pharaoh. They hated working for him.

Do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe the 1,000 reign of Christ Jesus began in 1914 ?
by smiddy3 inif not ,why do they claim he took up his power to reign as king in 1914 ?
do they claim that ?
or is it that he has only returned awaiting for god to give the throne to him.?.

If someone can't understand what you are saying how can they contradict you?

Smiddy you have put your finger right on it. WT is contradictions that are made to sound like they don't contradict. WT words are mental fog to PREVENT UNDERSTANDING.

Friend Is Worried About My “Mental Health”...lol
by minimus inone of my tennis friends who happens also to be a nurse, told me today that he is concerned about my mental health because i support donald trump.
i believe he got shafted but i also recognize that very little will probably change regarding his being re-elected.
this man voted for the “green” candidate and said he personally agrees with most of trump’s views but he thinks he’s morally corrupt.

When you disagree with WT reps for valid reasons, the GB will put out videos saying that apostates are mentally diseased. Next thing is elders start to express that view. So you can tell what elders have been watching and what they are invested in.
I don't know the facts of this political issue but I do know that when people don't want to agree with you but cannot put together a valid/proved set of facts to establish their point, some turn to ridicule or call you mad. But they have gone right of the topic and suddenly it is all your problem - because you wont agree with them.
Jesus Christ experienced similar.
(Matthew 12:24-27) . . .At hearing this, the Pharisees said: “This fellow does not expel the demons except by means of Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” 25 Knowing their thoughts, he said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself comes to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 In the same way, if Satan expels Satan, he has become divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand? 27 Moreover, if I expel the demons by means of Beelzebub, by means of whom do your sons expel them? This is why they will be judges of you.

Comparing Christian & Watchtower Timelines
by Sea Breeze inin talking to jw's, it is apparent that they believe they are the only ones who believe in a paradise earth.
in reality most bible-believing christians believe in a paradise earth, they just don't call it that, they call it the millennium reign.
i created the chart below in an attempt to highlight areas of agreement between christians and a watchtower view, while at the same time isolating the key difference - the rejection of the new covenant.

Hi Drearyweather.
If they were over a certain age they were encouraged to mentor younger ones and pass on their roles, not cling to them.
Ok they could keep the title of elder but they were no longer the ones in the driving seat (on the circular road) and this put the noses of older elders out.
So yes, I don't think they were encouraged to step down from the title of elder but step back from the responsibilities and open up their old boys club to new ones.
What I sensed with some was that they were swallowing hard and grieving over this as if they were no longer elders. They were losing something they valued.

A few years back older brothers were encouraged to step down as elders and make way for younger ones. These younger ones generally have no clue about the Bible or WT teachings. Ask them a deep question on the Bible or WT teachings and they are like 5 year olds trying to spell a big word. Some enthusiasm but very hit and miss. Usually miss.
It is very easy to confuse these younger ones (elders and the congregation members), this can result in a big sulky silence on their part. If there is any hope, you have to first get them to understand the Bible, in particular Jesus' loving kindness. So the chart could be a helpful way of encouraging them to read the Bible. But you know what they are like - if they are reading the Bible without the Watchtower they worry - cause they've got to do the thinking rather that allow Watchtower to do their thinking.

We Knew Many JWs That Weren’t Right....what about xjws??
by minimus indo you think that when people leave the religion that they are basically now, “normal”?
or do you think it’s more a work in progress?.

A norm is a rule. So whoever's rules you choose to live by is a version of 'normal'.
For Christians normality is living by the values and priorities laid down by Jesus Christ.
For others the normality is different.
